Tonight was time again for the sexy and beautiful Victoria’s Secret “Angles” to take center stage and strut the runway during the 2012 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

This year was bigger and better than ever before. Supermodels that starred and hit the runway in this year’s show included – Adriana Lima, Miranda Kerr, Lily Aldridge, Alessandra Ambrosio, Joan Smalls, Doutzen Kroes, Candice Swanepoel and Erin Heathertonwill

But sexy lingerie and models weren’t the only stars. Musical headliner performances included superstars – Rihanna, Bruno Mars and Justin Bieber.

Prior to the start of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, Justin Bieber was quoted, “It’s like a dream come true. I would rather be here than anywhere in the world.”

The 2012 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was actually was taped on November 7 at the Lexington Avenue Armory in New York City, but broadcast tonight on TV station CBS.

The show opened with a magical circus theme as the world famous Victoria’s Secret supermodels made their first appearance. Rihanna followed as part of the “Dangerous Liasons” segment with the performance of her current billboard hit song “Diamonds.” For this theme, the models wore their signature angel wings and sexy lace lingerie.

Bruno Mars performed next in the “Calendar Girls” segment, singing his current hit song “Locked Out of Heaven.” Justin Bieber made his first appearance singing his hit song “”As Long As You Love Me.” It was an incredible acoustical version. Justin Bieber followed with his “Beauty and the Beat” song during the “Pink Ball” theme. This segment of the show showcased the models wearing candy colored lingerie with hooded sweatshirts from the Victoria’s Secret PINK collection.

Bruno Mars returned to sing “Young Girls” during the “Silver Screen Angels” theme segment. Rihanna also sang a second song – “Fresh Off the Runway” during the dazzling “Angel in Bloom” segment. Frank Pollaro Furniture

Brad Pitt has been cast in a new role…. not a movie role, but instead has turned his infatuation as a furniture designer into creating a high-end collection of furniture for a luxury design house.

Pitt has teamed up with furniture maker Frank Pollaro, whose New Jersey firm is noted for its impeccable reproductions of Art Deco furnishings. The official Pitt Pollaro site launched on November 11th at: http://www.pitt-pollaro.com

When Pollaro and Brad Pitt met to install a reproduction Ruhlmann desk the actor had custom-built a few years ago, a sketchbook filled with drawings of furniture designs was spotted by Pollaro. That was when they decided to make some of the stuff real. Brad thought that could be fun.

Pitt said “I’m drawn to furniture design as complete architecture on a minor scale. I am obsessively bent on quality, to an unhealthy degree.” Pit said Pollaro expresses the “same mad spirit of the craftsmen of yore, with their obsessive attention to detail.”

Scottish architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s Glasgow Rose had a big impact on the 48-year-old actor. Mackintosh’s collections were drawn with a continuous line and with the fluidity of a single line, whether it be geometric or circular. An uninterrupted line has great appeal to Pitt, He explains that there is a symbolic element that is tough to articulate. He states “There is something more grand at play, as if you could tell the story of one’s life with a single line — from birth to death, with all the bloody triumphs and perceived humiliating losses, even boredoms, along the way.”

According to Pollaro, Brad Pitt has thousands of ideas … to decide which ones to produce the two men frequently hold seven to ten hour meetings where they engage in discussions about design, materials, craftsmanship, classicism and modernization.

The dozen-piece collection, which will be unveiled by the Pollaro furniture house in New York between November 13 and 15, will include sophisticated Art Deco ocean liner beds, a dining table, a cocktail table, several side tables, a few club chairs, even a bathtub for two in Statuario Venato marble. Many of the designs feature single lines that can be geometric such as the 17 foot long wood dining table whose jagged base has dramatic zigzags at astonishing angles. Or a glass-top side table with a 24K gold spiraling metal base.

All of the initial designs will be made in numbered editions or limited production and will be signed by Pitt and Pollaro. Although specific prices are not discussed they are by and large at the high end of the custom-furnishings scale. A chair might sell for $45,000, but some pieces may be put into large-scale production using different materials, a molded plastic chair for instance, which might sell for a fraction of that.

When asked how he feels about being called a furniture designer, Pitt cautions “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.”

Pollaro predicts, for his part, that this is just the beginning. “I think we’ll be doing this for a long time,” he says.

Philip Treacy

Women in England love to wear hats, particularly to large events like weddings or celebrations. And keeping that British culture is well known Irish hat designer Philip Treacy, noted for designing 36 of the hats worn at the wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton on April 29, 2011, including the infamous headpiece donned by Princess Beatrice of York.

Treacy told the Associated Press, “When people think of hats, they think of her majesty the queen.” “They’re exciting hats to make, because hats and royal weddings are both about magic, happiness and a sense of celebration.”

Treacy who was born in Ahascragh, in the West of Ireland, studied fashion at the National College of Art & Design, where his hobby was to make hats to go with outfits he designed.

When he graduated with first class honors in 1990 from the Royal College of Art, he set up a workshop in the basement of Isabella and Detmar Blow’s house on Elizabeth Street, Belgravia. The late Isabella Blow, an English magazine editor , wore many of Treacy’s hats and helped unveil himself as a well known designer. Blow continued to be an inspiration to Treacy for the remainder of her life.

On five occasions during the early 1990’s Treacy was awarded the title of British Accessory Designer of the Year at the British Fashion Awards. He has designed hats for Alexander McQueen, Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel, Valentino, Ralph Lauren and Donna Karan along with various films including some or all of the Harry Potter films and Sarach Jessica Parker’s hat for the film premiere of Sex and the City.

Treacy states, “A hat is a positive symbol. A good hat thrills observers and makes the wearer feel like a million dollars.”

In Britain, the tradition has stayed strong. “Hats have long denoted status,” says Oriole Cullen, curator of a Victoria & Albert Museum 2009 hat exhibit that has since gone to Australia and heads to New York in September. “Up until the 1950s, a woman wasn’t even considered properly dressed unless she was wearing a hat and gloves.”
