British Airways – Dreamliner

Uncomfortable seats is often ranked as one of the top airline complaints by travelers.  British Airways is here to change your travel experience and has announced the cabin design and layout for its Boeing 787 and Airbus A380 aircraft.

Only six months away from delivery, the new British Airways Dreamliner will provide comfort for 214 customers while the A380, the largest aircraft in the British Airways fleet, will accommodate 469 customers.  Elegant cabin designs fitted on British Airways’ new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft will be featured on twenty-four Dreamliner’s and twelve A380’s.  These designs have proven to be immensely popular with customers.

The British Airlines Dreamliner will have 35 seats for customers in the new 2:3:2 Club World triple configuration; 25 seats in a 2:3:2 World Traveler Plus layout; and an additional 154 seats  in a 3:3:3 formation for those traveling in World Traveler.

The A380 main deck will have 14 seats in First (with extra space for stowing personal items); the Club World cabin will include 44 seats in a 2:4:2 configuration; and in World Traveler there will be 199 seats in a 3:4:3 layout.

The A380 upper deck will feature 53 seats in the new 2:3:2 Club World triple configuration; 55 seats in a 2:3:2 World Traveler Plus layout; and World Traveler will have 104 seats in a 2:4:2 configuration.

Other amenities on both new aircrafts will offer travelers more movie options, TV shows, audio programs and music featured on the airline’s latest Thales inflight entertainment system.  Other benefits include new larger screens in all cabins and an easy-to-use system with shortcut buttons.  You will be able to connect laptops and take advantage of the in-seat power available for the first time in all cabins.

Willie Walsh, chief executive of International Airlines Group (IAG), stated: “We are investing GBP5bn in British Airways’ new and upgraded aircraft, innovative technologies and customer services.  We now have six Boeing 777-300ERs, all fitted with our latest cabins. Our customer feedback and satisfaction scores show the seat and cabin designs have achieved the highest ratings we have ever seen.

By next spring we will have finished installing our new First cabins in the British Airways Dreamliner. The nine new aircraft we take delivery of in 2013 will feature our latest signature designs to ensure the customer experience maintains
the highest standard across our fleet.”

The first Dreamliner will arrive in May 2013 and A380 deliveries will be introduced in July 2013.  British Airways will be the first European airline to operate both new aircraft styles and will announce the routes the new aircraft will operate in Spring 2013.

Mercedes, Audi, and BMW continue to be the dominant global luxury car brands. Although Jaguar is still regarded as another luxury car maker, it holds a far less market share compared to the other big 3.

Jaguar is getting close to premiering the luxury car brand’s first two-seat Jaguar roadster since the E-type. This sportscar named the F-type follows the iconic and successful E-type which was the first brand launch since the forgettable X-type more than ten years ago.

The base engine of the F-type is a brand new, supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 that Jaguar developed from its traditional 5.0-liter V-8 engine. The new engine will offer about 340 hp.

A low deck lid plus sliver-thin LED taillights enhance the sensual beauty of this new Jag. Once you get your speed up 60 mph, a spoiler deploys.

We noticed one element that’s missing is the trademark rotary shifter. It’s been replaced by standard automatic shifter which should allow the driver to change gears manually.

The Jaguar F-Type dashboard will feature analog gauges plus toggle switches that remind the driver of classic sports cars from the past. This look is a switch from Jaguar’s more typical design of high-tech controls.

It’s expected that the new 2014 F-type will likely be priced starting at $70,000

Only time will tell how this new Jaguar F-Type will do against the big luxury names – Mercedes, BMW and Audi but Jaguar tradition and ingenuity will definitely put up a good fight.

Louis Vuitton

Carrying an expensive purse symbolizes glamour and sophistication, and if you have money burning a hole in your wallet, then what’s stopping you from spending hundreds even thousands on an expensive Louis Vuitton designer bag.

Founded in 1854, The Louis Vuitton Company has employed famous models and A-list celebrities in their marketing campaigns, and for the most part, catered to the upper-class culture.

These expensive and luxurious handbags are sought after for their rarity and extravagant designs.  Well known for their luxury fashion and high quality leather, these limited supply purses make women blush with excitement and scurry to check out these status bags.

Stephen Sprouse teamed up with Marc Jabocs in 2001 and designed a limited-edition line of LV bags with graffiti written over the monogram pattern.  The graffiti read Louis Vuitton.  Some pieces featured the graffiti without the monogram canvas background, but were only available on Louis Vuitton’s V.I.P. customer list.

In 2004, Louis Vuitton celebrated its 150th anniversary. Stores in New York City were opened and its first global store in Shanghai was unveiled.  The Champs-Élysées store in Paris designed by the American Architect Eric Carlson, alleged to be the largest and most profitable store in the world, reopened in 2005.

Louis Vuitton released their most high-priced handbag in early 2007, the Louis Vuitton Tribute Patchwork Bag.  The limited edition purse, made of samples of different Louis Vuitton bags, sold out almost immediately. Twenty-four numbered copies of their most expensive handbags were made, priced at $45,000.  A collection of denim patchwork bags selling for around $3,000-$5,000 followed soon after the LV Tribute Patchwork Bag.

Louis Vuitton has been named the world’s most valuable luxury brand for seven consecutive years (2006-2012).  Ranging from luxury trunks and leather goods to ready-to-wear, shoes, watches, jewelry, accessories, sunglasses, and books, the LV monogram appears on most of its merchandise.

Selling their products through standalone boutiques, lease departments in high-end department stores and through the e-commerce section if its website, Louis Vuitton is known as one of the world’s leading international fashion houses.  In 2012, LV was valued at 25.9 billion USD..  Since the 19^th century, luggage is still made by hand and the manufacture of Louis Vuitton merchandise has not changed.
