The Naked Fisherman Beach Bar and Grill – Saint Lucia

Tropical Saint Lucia is home to the acclaimed five-star beachfront resort Cap Maison, on the northwest shore of the island.

The Naked Fisherman Beach Bar and Grill just opened on sandy Smuggler’s Cove, the luxury resort’s secluded beach.

The Naked Fisherman was the creation of Cap Maison’s Executive Chef Craig Jones. He is a Welsh-born veteran of Europe’s Michelin-starred kitchens and is currently running the Cap Maison resort’s Cliff at Cap restaurant since its opening back in 2008.

The Naked Fisherman Beach Bar and Grill is a modern take on the classic Caribbean beach shack, where sand in the toes and a rum punch in hand make the ideal partnership.

The Naked Fisherman has become of the few, true beach eateries in all of scenic Saint Lucia. The new restaurant serves a casual dining alternative for guests of the Cap Maison resort and is also open to the public.

Featuring a menu with meal items at a lower price point than the white tablecloth Cliff at Cap, The Naked Fisherman offers a grill-centric menu for both lunch and dinner, with an emphasis on barbecue and fresh seafood.

Although the luxury, Saint Lucia resort is noted for its gorgeous Spanish Mediterranean style architecture, the stylish look of the 36-seat Naked Fisherman is thatched-roof-Caribbean, the better to harmonize with its lush beach setting.

The restaurant features grilled island catch with pumpkin and coconut curry or grilled spiny lobster tail with ital rice. Meat lovers can also feast on sticky pulled baby back ribs or a grilled Wagyu burger.

Tropical drinks galore, The Naked Fisherman Beach Bar and Grill serves up delicious tasting drinks that include a wide selection of rums, wines, cocktails, cold beers and the signature – and potent — rum punch.

The Naked Fisherman Beach Bar & Grill is now open between 12:30pm and 3pm for lunch and from 6:30pm to 10pm for dinner.

Chef Jones begins a weekly series of Chef’s Table Dinners at Saman House, which is the owner’s house adjacent to Cap Maison. The Chef’s Table Dinners, limited to just 24 diners, will present an intimate five-course meal on Saman House’s broad verandah as the sun sets over the Caribbean.

If you are interested in visiting tropical Saint Lucia and staying at the luxury Cap Maison resort and dining at the new The Naked Fisherman Beach Bar and Grill, please contact The Life of Luxury.

World’s Fastest Growing Luxury Market is in Qatar

A recent study completed by by Ledbury Research, has determined that the Middle-Eastern sovereign state of Qatar is world’s fastest growing luxury market.

The Ledbury Research report is titled “Global Luxury Hotspots” and announced that Qatar took the top spot as the world’s top 20 “fast-growing, frontier markets” for the luxury industry.

It may not be a surprise to many, but the Middle East with its vast natural resource reserves took the top three positions. The United Arab Emirates took second place and Saudi Arabia was ranked third in the luxury market survey.

Qatar has a relatively small population of only 2 million people, but just 250,000 are citizens.

Qatar was proud to have just held the World Luxury Expo and will be hosting the Football World Cup in 2022.

Nicola Ko is the senior luxury analyst at Ledbury Research and was quoted, “The Mall of Qatar is currently being built however, and with infrastructure to be improved in the run-up to the 2022 World Cup, the luxury industry has significantly more potential to grow in the country.”

Qatar has a history of investing in the luxury industry. It owns majority stakes in landmark department stores Harrods and Printemps in London and Paris, plus in Italian fashion brand Valentino.

To become even further entrenched in the luxury market, Qatar is also currently developing its own luxury label, titled “Qela.”

Top Hunger Games – Inspired Hotels

The second Hunger Games movie opens today in theaters across the U.S. – Hunger Games: Catching Fire. The much anticipated film starts off with Katniss Everdeen (played by Jennifer Lawrence) returning home after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games with Peeta Mellark (played by Josh Hutcherson). They must next leave their families behind and embark on a “Victor’s Tour” of the various districts.

We were one the first media companies in the world to broadcast the Hunger Games: Catching Fire movie trailer back in July, giving Hunger Games fans a sneak peak at the upcoming movie.

Booking.com has put together a list of hotels from around the world with Hunger Games – inspired accommodations.  Which hotels do you feel Katniss Everdeen would be most comfortable staying  in?

Museum Hotel – Cappadocia, Turkey
The world watched as Katniss and Peeta huddled in a cave to try and outlive their fellow tributes in the 74th Annual Hunger Games. With Peeta struggling for his life, it is here that we all “oohed” and “aahed” as they shared their first kiss. While dirt, mud and covering ourselves with leaves don’t necessarily sound like the most ideal weekend getaway, we would opt for a bit more elegance in this Turkey, Museum Hotel (photo above) for our cave habitation.

Treehotel– Harads, Sweden
We can all remember Katniss Everdeen’s nights spent tied to tree branches, hiding from her Hunger Games rivals. The Treehotel in Sweden, allows guests to experience a similar nights’ stay…minus the flying arrows and tracker jackers. The hotel offers a unique and gravity-defying stay amid the Harads’ forest. No doubt Katniss would have preferred hunkering down in one of these cozier accommodations during her time in the 74th annual Hunger Games arena.

Bubble Hotel – Mullihotell – Suur-Rootsi, Estonia
Built to resemble a clock, with every hour bringing another torturous event by the Gamemakers, the 75th Hunger Games arena had the Tributes trapped in a deathly dome.  The Bubble Hotel – Mullihotell in Estonia provides those looking for a different type of accommodation a chance to experience that dome encasing.  As a partially transparent bubble tent with a transparent roof, visitors will feel like Katniss and Peeta, without having to worry about hourly attacks by monkey mutations and jabberjays.

nhow Berlin – Berlin, Germany
The residents of Panem’s Capital are beaming with flamboyant clothing and even more decorated skin.  With vibrant colored skin and tattoos, the people of the Capital will do anything to look the part – including implanting jewels into their bodies!  While we aren’t advising that you go out and dye yourself purple, we do recommend the nhow Berlin hotel, which exudes the same liveliness as Panem’s highest-praised district.

Sleepbox Hotel – Moscow, Russia
To make final preparations for the game, Katniss and her beloved stylist, Cinna, gather in her Launch Room to say their goodbyes.  It is here that Cinna applies the finishing touch to her arena uniform: The gold Mockingjay pin.  These capsule rooms are perfect for any visitor looking to get the Launch Room feel, without actually being thrust into a death match.  And no, we cannot promise a pin on every pillow.

Sheraton Diana Majestic Hotel– Milan, Italy
Located in the Appalachia, District 12’s main industry is coal mining. It was also the fault of a coal mining accident that Katniss and Prim lost their father, before the stories begin.  In honor of the mining district, we scoured the globe for an all-black hotel space…and we found it.  To get the full underground and coal experience, visitors can stay in this luxe hotel with the blackout rooms – it definitely beats getting yourself muddied in coal.

Longitude 131 – Ayers Rocks, Australia
While we truly can appreciate the courage, bravery and strength that each tribute has to enter the arena, our idea of camping is a little bit more glamorous.  Instead of a night in a man-made terrain watching arrows fly high above your head, how about a more comfortable evening spent under the stars in a man-made five star tent.  No offense to Katniss and the rest of the Hunger Games tributes, but “glamping” fits a little more with our style.

Hôtel Fouquet’s Barrière – Paris, France
While we would all love to have the glitzy life like the infamous President Snow, some odds just aren’t in our favor. However, what we can promise is a Booking delightful stay in one of the world’s most glamorous properties. So kick back, relax, and eat as many berries as your heart desires.

If you are interested in booking a reservation at one of the above hotels, then please contact The Life of Luxury and one of our travel concierge specialists will assist with all of your travel needs.

Corinthia Hotel London Offers a Chance to Discover The Historic Petworth Estate

The five-star Corinthia Hotel London is now offering an incredible package for its hotel guests that includes an exclusive outing to the historic Petworth Estate.

A day’s outing to this English country estate, allows Corinthia guests to go hunting for game, and offered a tour of the ancestral home of Lord and Lady Egremont. At Petworth House, guest can also view the largest private collection of artwork by Turner, plus enjoy a traditional English Afternoon Tea in the scenic, British countryside.

The gorgeous Petworth estate was designed by renowned English landscape architect Lancelot “Capability” Brown back in 1752. The property is part of the National Trust.

Your country stately home experience continues with a morning of simulated game shooting followed by an afternoon drive of live game, type depending on the time of year. From October to January the focus is on birds such as pheasants. Between April to September it’s simulated stalking and shooting of live deer when available.

For fishing lovers during the summer, try your luck with fly-fishing for rainbow or brown trout on the estate’s rivers or eight lakes.

With a busy schedule of hunting and shooting across the estate, you’re appetite will need to be dealt with. Corinthia’s Executive Chef Garry Hollihead will prepare an incredible breakfast and picnic lunch (depending on weather). The meals will be served to the guests by butlers and estate staff. And of course, an afternoon tea is also included.

At the end of the day, Corinthia Hotel London guests may be given oven-ready game birds, fish and/or venison, which Corinthia London can prepare for their dinner when they get back to the hotel in the evening.

If game hunting is not your thing, then you can also enjoy a day at Petworth with a guided tour of the main house (which houses the largest private collection of Turner paintings), horse and cart tour of the estate (weather permitting), and a look around the plethora of local antique shops.

Interestingly, the ancestral 17th century home Petworth House includes a section that is still inhabited by Lord and Lady Egremont.

The luxury Corinthia Hotel London provides unrivaled world-class luxury and amenities, and is a must for anybody staying in London. The hotel’s Northall restaurant serves the best in British produce throughout the day. Also try modern Italian cuisine at Massimo Restaurant & Oyster Bar and the musically inspired Bassoon Bar.

If you are interested in booking a trip to London and staying at the luxury Corinthia Hotel London plus the Petworth Estate visit, please contact The Life of Luxury and speak to one of our travel concierge specialists to help with your arrangements.
