A 418-foot waterfall flows from the steep mountainside, tumbling over mammoth boulders, cascading into a river that roars through the clubhouse, eventually culminating in a tranquil stream. It’s no wonder Sports Illustrated called Cascata “golf’s hidden treasure.”

Bellagio’s Conservatory & Botanical Gardens

Bellagio Botanical Gardens
Courtesy of: Bellagio Las Vegas

Beginning this spring, Bellagio’s Conservatory & Botanical Gardens continues to feature a spectacular floral exhibition filled with vivid blooms and a magnificent one-of-a-kind series of large-scale bronze sculptural ants.

Inspired by the social nature of these industrious creatures, American artist Susan P. Cochran created a seven-member colony that represents the ideals of cooperation and teamwork.

You can enjoy four enchanting gardens that were created by Bellagio’s very talented horticulture staff. The staff provides a lush landscape for these intricately detailed creatures.

Resting below two towering yellow jonquils, a queen ant will allow guests to climb onto her back for a unique photo opportunity. The stunning 8,500-pound queen will provide an ideal vantage point for viewing an exhibit of botanical snails and bumblebees as well as brightly colored tulips, poppies, daisies, mums and daffodils.

Just a few steps away, there are three 10-foot-long ants attentively preparing for the even warmer months ahead at the mouth of a 15-foot-tall flower pot, overflowing with rainbow-hued blooms. A beautiful spring butterfly will rest atop the over-sized pot while a towering 28-foot spade will stand nearby.

Overhead, bumble bees made of preserved sunflowers pause mid-flight in their tireless search for nectar.

Nearby is another first for Bellagio’s Conservatory – five giant mushrooms, ranging in size from 5 to 15 feet tall. These mushrooms will provide a natural canopy for the pair of 6-feet-tall ants found communicating below.

A jardin à la française, or French garden, will complete this fantasy botanical wonderland. Within its fragrant symmetrical borders, a large anthill will be flanked by two water spheres.

A 3-foot-long ant will be seen crawling into the golden sunlight from its earthen tunnel as its industrious counterpart works nearby.

Throughout this mesmerizing exhibit, botany fans will delight to find a rare exhibition of 10 potted olive trees, each more than 100 years old. Over the years, these ancient trees have been carefully sculptured into oversized bonsai presentations.

Rojo Lounge in Las Vegas

Rojo Lounge The Palms

Rojo Lounge, located in the lobby of Palms Place Condo Hotel (located next to the Palms), is what you’d imagine hotel lobbies were like during the Rat Pack days, only updated for the R. Kelly set.

There’s the separate lounge (with a capacity of 75), which is intimate and features a red-lit bar, vinyl booths and bottle service. And then there’s the actual lobby, which ups the capacity of the whole place to more than 200.

I checked this place out for the first time a couple nights ago. Loved it! Jason described it as a high-end, strip-like lounge, just not on the strip. I agree. The layout is great because you can also take your drink out into the main lobby. Lots of couches and cool areas to chill out.

If you’re into celebrity watching insiders tell me this is the hottest spot in town right now. Since many of the condos are owned by celebs, they can often be spotted grabbing a quick beverage at Rojo. This week I’m told Jon Lovitz stopped by as did Vern “Mini Me” Troyer. Okay, maybe they’re not on the top of your “watch list”… but others who reportedly purchased Palms Place condos include, rapper Eminem, Jessica Simpson and Hulk Hogan.

Robert Parekh is the bar manager. Good guy. We chatted with him for a few. They offer many signature drinks, inlcuding one he created called a “Mandarin Mojave”… it tastes like a dreamsicle. Article by: Gerard Ramalho

Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino

Mandalay Bay offers a high-end room product, superb dining by world-renowned chefs, an array of glamorous nightspots, the best pool in Las Vegas and much, much more.

Mandalay Bay has earned the prestigious Four Diamond Award from AAA recognizing the resort for its exceptional degree of hospitality, service, and attention to detail. When it comes to treating guests with a truly exciting and elegant experience, it doesn’t get any better than Mandalay Bay resort & Casino on the world famous Las Vegas Strip.

Everything from nearly two dozen upscale restaurants and popular entertainment to a sandy beach and two relaxing spas can be found here.

The 11-acre Beach at Mandalay Bay is not your typical Las Vegas Pool. Named the number one beach in Las Vegas for seven years running, you can catch a wave in the famous wave pool, swim in one of four exotic pools or relax with a leisurely float down the lazy river.

With unique flavors and styles, innovative restaurateurs and daring architects Mandalay Bay creates dining experiences that scintillate the senses as well as please the palate.

Signature restaurants include: MIX, restaurant rm, Fleur de Lys, China Grill, STRIPSTEAK, Shanghai Lilly and Trattoria del Lupo, where Wolfgang Puck presents a dining experience that is like a stroll in a small Italian piazza.
