Winter is just around the corner so the last thing on many people’s minds is boating. But boating is a year-end luxury in many parts of the world. Each year in January, the New York Boat Show takes place and is attended by thousands of boat lovers.

Steve Jobs luxury yacht – Venus

It’s hard to believe it’s already been over a year that Apple’s Steve Jobs passed away, his ultra-luxury yacht is now ready to launch.

After years of secretive designing by Steve Jobs and French designer Phillipe Stack, Feadship shipbuilders in Aalsmeer, Holland have unveiled the sleek looking “Venus.”

Measuring over 70 meters in length and resembling a giant Apple iPhone 4, Venus is a luxury yacht that was built completely out of aluminum. The lighter yacht weight will allow for faster speeds on the open waters and better fuel efficiency.

There is a large sun deck that includes a built in jacuzzi. The ship’s all “floor to ceiling” glass cabin comes is equipped a bridge that features seven 27-inch Apple iMacs to provide the luxury yacht’s navigation and controls.

The impressive ship’s main living area was designed with stunning walls of glass, measuring forty feet long by ten feet high.

During the luxury boat’s christening party, Jobs family members joined the custom yacht builders to celebrate this luxurious vessel. Each member of Feadship shipbuilder team received an Apple iPod Shuffle with the boat’s name “Venus” engraved on the back.

Project Azzam – World’s largest superyacht

Having the label of the world’s largest yacht holds a high level prestige in the luxury boating industry.

It looks like another new superyacht is about to be crowned the world’s biggest yacht – Azzam. Under construction in Bremen-Vegesack, Germany is Project Azzam.

As one can imagine, the physical details of any new superyacht under construction is often held in privacy. But industry experts project the new superyacht Azzam to be about 590 feet in length. If true, this boat length would surpass the current world record by 54 feet.

We had previously written about the current world’s current largest yacht. It is Eclipse, the 546-foot superyacht that’s owned by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich.  Another luxury superyacht that is currently for sale is Cakewalk.

Azzam is being built by a Middle-Eastern billionaire, and the mega-yacht is planned to be built and launched next year. The luxury mega-yacht is estimated to have a steep price of $622 million and is being built of respected German yacht builder Lurssen.

Wally Yachts is a Monaco-based company and recently launched a brand new, luxury 100 feet (30.5 metre) superyacht.

The new superyacht is named “Hamilton” and is the first unit of the Wally Cento series. This beautiful yacht was designed by Judel/Vrolijk and its interior was designed by Design Unlimited.

The luxurious Hamilton superyacht has been classified as a high performance racing yacht, but can also be used as a luxury cruiser.

Hamilton features an innovative design, using only the most advanced material technology. The yacht has a lifting keel that allows a maximum draft of 6.2 meter, plus a maximum displacement of 50 tons in IRC measurement trim.

The new Wally Yachts superyacht uses a new generation of lightweight, carbon composite hull designs, allowing these boats to surf, plane and exceed 25 knots downwind.

Hamilton by Wally Yachts features an interior that presents simple yet contemporary lines. Relaxing ambiance is quite evident on this luxury superyacht. Hamilton also has a large en-suite master stateroom, two en-suite guest cabins, in addition an en-suite/day head.

To enjoy a few drinks while cruising on the high seas, spend time in yacht’s own saloon. Relax in Spinneybeck Copenhagen Leather seats while the port side seating and feature panels are Alma Mocha Bull nubuck suede.

Eco-friendly Orsos Island strives to be self-sufficient and harnesses most of its required energy from both solar and wind power. Heat recovery from the sea keeps Orsos Island cool in the heat and warm in the cold.

The stunning sun deck of the island features luxury amenities including: Jacuzzi, BBQ, sun roof loungers and even a bar.

Orsos Island creator Gábor Orsós is also working on a prototype in Germany and Hungary with his design team. Expect to see their work completed by the end of 2013.
